The Shires Two Ring Sweet Iron Raised Rib Gag Bit’s mouthpiece is designed to produce a sweet taste and encourage salivation as it oxidizes.

The addition of copper ribs helps to prevent the horse from hanging on the bit and is a good deterrent for horses that tend to take hold. Moving the rein between the main ring and bottom ring allows more control. The 5-inch and smaller sizes of this bit come with shorter cheeks to ensure the bit remains proportionate with the smaller head.
